Nova stranica ateliera: arhiv, film i materijali za novo razumijevanje baštine
5. 11. 2026.

The new atelier website: archive, film and materials for a new understanding of heritage
5 November 2026
The new website of the atelier, atelierperajica.com, is online. Besides describing the work, it is conceived as an open research resource: a large archive of portrait and theatre photography and film, accompanied by educational materials that show how photographic heritage can be read differently than as a collection of old pictures.
The archive
The archive covers portrait and theatre photography and film material. The site features the trailer of the film Čuvaj film, with documentation of its screenings. The material is presented as research material.
Educational materials
- Re-photography. The cycles Positiveland and Negativeland were made by re-photographing archival photographs and negatives, so they show what a photograph is as an object, not only what it depicts.
- Sliders through time. Interactive sliders compare generations in the same place, positive and negative, and the state before and after restoration, so the difference is seen instead of described.
- Animation. An animated demonstration presents the phototype, the basic unit of photography, as a permutation of elements, not as the output of a neural network.
- Computation. Concepts from the research (total images, photogene, phototype) are shown through procedures that compute possible combinations, which allows a new understanding of archival material.
